Getting Started with Online Vet Visits

Simple, convenient access to care from home

Scheduling a virtual appointment is easy. Just call our clinic at (651) 789-6275, and our team will help you set up a telemedicine visit during regular office hours. Once scheduled, you’ll be able to connect with one of our veterinarians from the comfort of your home.

How Do Virtual Vet Visits Work?

When telemedicine is the right choice for your pet

Telemedicine allows current clients to consult with our veterinarians about certain health concerns that may not require an in-clinic visit. It’s a convenient option for guidance, follow-ups, and minor issues—but not every condition is suitable for virtual care.

Here are some general guidelines for when online vet visits may be appropriate:

  • Existing client relationship required
Minnesota law requires a valid Veterinary-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR). This means your pet must have been seen by a St. Paul Pet Hospital veterinarian within the past 12 months.
  • Common concerns we can evaluate virtually
    • Skin issues (itching, rashes, wounds, lumps)
    • Ear infections
    • Mild digestive issues like diarrhea
    • Coughing or minor limping
  • General care and guidance
    • Behavior or anxiety concerns
    • Diet and nutrition recommendations
    • Quality of life or hospice care discussions

Prescriptions & Next Steps

If your pet needs medication following a telemedicine visit, we’ll make the process easy:

  • Prescriptions can be picked up at our clinic
  • Delivered through our online pharmacy (VetSource)
  • Or sent to an external pharmacy if needed

If your pet’s condition requires a hands-on exam, we’ll guide you on scheduling an in-clinic visit for further care.
